All human beings are inherently designed to learn. Babies do it during most of their waking hours. Therefore, if a student is not learning, the fault lies not with the learner, but with the teacher or the subject matter. Everyone has a passion. Find the passion and learning becomes passionate!
Trusted Teachers...
Our lessons begin with an assessment of the student’s progress in the subject area. Once that is established, the teacher begins slightly before the point where the student got lost. This accomplishes two goals: beginning on familiar ground allows the student to regain self-esteem and the rapport created provides the moment for bonding between the teacher and student. Once this bonding occurs, the student trusts the teacher to be the guide into uncharted territory.
Passionate Learning!
The primary function of our lessons is never to “get the work done.” It is rather to impart the skills necessary to become capable of handling any academic challenge. By finding a student’s passion, the teacher shows the way to use the energy of that passion for learning. We do teach subject matter, but even more, we teach love of learning.
